This app keeps me focused on my driving including, braking, accelerating, speeding, cornering and phone use. It doesn't know the difference between braking for a stop sign and braking hard to avoid a mishap as well as accelerating from a stop at a stop sign and just randomly accelerating but otherwise, I like it

Hi Jeanne! Thanks much for your review!
You're right in that SafeTrip can't tell if you've hit the brakes hard to avoid an accident (vs. heavy braking because you're driving too aggressively and tailgating). But if you feel as though you've been scored unfairly, you can always relabel your trip and it won't impact your overall score.

This app is extremely helpful, even after 60 years of driving. There are times when an "adverse" rating happens that cannot be avoided, such as entry to a freeway, but this app will mark it, making me fully aware when accelerating everywhere, which is good. I am more aware of what I am doing now in the 4 specific areas and how to make a change like always using cruise control on the highway to avoid heavy foot speeding. I highly recommend using this app!

Thanks, Mike Mary L! And, yes, it's worth noting that SafeTrip (and other apps like this) are not 100% perfect. Sometimes a necessary defensive driving move (like braking quickly to avoid a hazard) will be called out by the app. But the beauty of SafeTrip is that it lets you see and understand events like this with no ties to your insurance rates.

Like this app! The "No Braking" stat is broken by adaptive cruise control, which brakes hard when a car ahead of you cuts into your lane too close or slows and turns off to a side street. I don't think the app can account for that by any means.

Hi Charles! One of the things about SafeTrip is that it can measure a hard-braking event, but it can't see that it may have been another driver that caused you (or your car) to brake heavily -- and you were showing good defensive driving traits. Occasional events like this won't have a big impact on your overall driving score, however.
