I suddenly found myself unable to use the app because Android Developers Option was enabled. since the potential risk is from enabling USB debugging and wireless debugging, checks should be made on just these two options instead of the entire Android Developers Option. the developers of this app just took the easy way out. this is totally unacceptable. Update after the response from HSBC on 25 Feb 2026: you just cut and pasted some statements from somewhere to reply to my comment.

i cannot login to my account since yesterday. my developer options is off since day one. the past few months have no issues. but today i cant login. it keeps either returns me to the login page or my account was logged off due to security reasons. tried to login via webpage, but it keeps prompting webpage cannot be found, page either moved or deleted.

THERE ARE SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS USING THIS APP AND NEEDS DEBUGGING OPTIONS! Also, whether the user uses accessibility options is not your business. Stop endangering users by preventing them from using accessibility options. This is not the way to "protect" users from scams. We can always choose to NOT use your bank and change to other banks that don't handle it like this.
